Pakistan Body Count came into being in July 2006 out of frustration when the founder, Dr. Zeeshan Usmani, was unable to find a reliable and authentic single source of casualties for suicide bombings in Pakistan that could be used for his PhD Research. Dr. Usmani started recording casualties and putting them online for other researchers. The main goals were to provide a single and reliable source of casualties data, and to portray the immensity of Pakistani situation to the world.
