The CCCM works under the spirit of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on their Destruction. In the area of monitoring and investigation, the CCCM monitors the fulfilment of the Ottawa Convention on behalf of the Colombian state and carries out an investigation each year for the Landmine Monitor. The Landmine Monitor is a tool which documents the clearing of mines and reports on incidents of casualties and injuries in Colombia from any remaining landmines.The Colombian Campaign Against Landmines carries out projects and action in three of the five pillars of mine action: (i) victims assistance, (ii) mine risk education and (iii) advocacy about the responsibilities and commitments of Colombia as member state 103 of the Ottawa Convention.
