Casualty recording in the Balkans: The Kosovo Memory Book

Sandra Orlovic, Deputy Executive Director of the Humanitarian Law Centre – Serbia, and Bekim Blakaj, Director of the Humanitarian Law Centre – Kosovo, speak about casualty recording in the Balkans. The two organisations jointly published the Kosovo Memory Book, containing details of more than 13,000 victims of war crimes, persons killed, and those who were forcibly disappeared in Kosovo in the period January 1 1998 – December 2000.

For the first time in the history of the Balkans, figures are replaced with names… Each story in the book corresponds to the life of the person it refers to.
