Our Projects
East Africa Project
The East Africa project aims to support members of the Casualty Recorders Network (CRN) that are recording fatalities of armed conflict in the East Africa region (Ethiopia, Eritrea, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan). The two-year project will focus on developing their capacity in key areas relating to casualty recording, such as methodology, information management, data and staff security, and advocacy. Online and in-person exchanges, workshops and training, as well as peer-to-peer support, will be key elements of this project, in collaboration with other CRN members. We aim for this pilot project to be extended to other areas of the global Network, according to needs.
This project is funded by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).
