Briefing paper: Casualty recording and missing persons

Briefing for Secretary-General’s report on missing persons in armed conflict

General Assembly resolution 75/184, adopted in December 2020, requested the Secretary-General to submit a comprehensive report on missing persons in armed conflict to the Human Rights Council and to the General Assembly at its 77th session.

Every Casualty Counts has prepared a briefing to inform this report, highlighting the link between casualty recording and efforts to prevent or resolve cases of persons going missing in armed conflict, and making recommendations for action.
