Every Casualty Counts is a registered charity in England and Wales. We qualify for 501(c)(3) equivalency status in the USA, and have Special Consultative Status at the United Nations.
Our independent Board of Trustees oversees the governance of the organisation. It sets the budget and strategic priorities, and appoints the Executive Director.
We are financed primarily by grant-making trusts and foundations, and public donations. We receive some funds from government sources and through partnerships with academic institutions.
All our sources of income and the way we use our funds is declared in our annual accounts. These are publicly available through the regulatory authorities. Our main expenditure is on staff employment and project expenses for the activities we run for members of the Casualty Recorders Network. We have no office so our overhead costs are kept low.
In 2024, 86.5% of our income went directly to achieving our charitable purposes. We spent 13.5% of our income on fundraising to ensure that ECC’s work can continue to thrive. You can find full details in our most recent annual report.
